CBD and THC are by no means the only essential cannabinoids in marijuana: a significant element is CBDA.
Light cannabis aficionados are familiar with THC and CBD, the two most important cannabinoids found in more significant quantities in hemp plants. Still, few are familiar with CBDA, or cannabidiol acid, which is just beginning to be heard.
CBDA can be considered the original version of CBD, present in the plant that has not yet undergone any treatment. After drying or prolonged exposure to high temperatures, CBDA transforms into CBD. Still, even in its original state, it possesses several important characteristics and could be a key element in developing new pharmacological therapies based on the use of cannabis.
Cannabis, a plant with many virtues known since ancient times
Long used to treat a variety of illnesses, cannabis has a history stretching back thousands of years as a plant with curative virtues. After decades of scientific research, even the medical world is beginning to evaluate the properties attributed to it.
As we know, the essential active ingredients in hemp are the cannabinoids, present in a considerable number of which are the most important are THC and CBD. The former, as we know, is the element responsible for the psychotropic effects of marijuana. But, at the same time, it is CBD, which has no psychotropic effects but is rich in essential nutrients, known for its health benefits.
CBD has become very popular, especially recently, with the spread of specialized stores, and its alleged anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and regenerative properties for the whole body are often spoken of. The advantage is that it can easily be found in one of the specialized online shops and is also used as a food supplement.

What is CBDA?
As we said, almost everyone knows the characteristics and properties of CBD by now, but few understand what CBDA is. Cannabidiolic acid is found in the natural plant before it undergoes any processing. As a result, CBDA has recently been the subject of studies showing potential health benefits.
CBDA is first developed in plants in the form of CBGA (cannabigerolic acid), only later to be converted into THCA or CBDA, depending on the type of enzyme with which it comes into contact.
However, because CBDA is only present in the cannabis plant that has not undergone any processing, it cannot be taken in food or with a vaporizer, nor can it be inhaled or smoked. For the same reason, no specific research has yet been carried out that includes administering the substance to test its effects.
Once the plant is subjected to high temperatures, CBDA is transformed into CBD.
The alleged properties of CBDA
CBDA will likely possess several qualities that may prove ideal in developing medicinal cannabis products. In particular, it appears to possess anti-inflammatory qualities similar to NSAIDs and has an anti-emetic effect. Still, one of the most relevant discoveries is its alleged ability to block the development of breast cancer, as evidenced by some tests performed in vitro.
Soon, if research is continued, CBDA may receive some attention from the world of medicine and science, intending to further pave the way for the therapeutic potential of cannabis.
Substantial differences between CBDA and CBD
First, it is essential to understand that CBDA is nothing more than a precursor cannabinoid, which means that CBD would be impossible to obtain without it. However, as we have seen, CBDA only exists in the raw plant that has not yet undergone any processing, which is also why there are very few products that contain CBDA.
Regarding the mechanism of interaction with the human body, CBDA uses receptors of the endocannabinoid system. However, research is still incomplete as it is complicated to isolate large quantities of this substance. It would seem, however, that the action of CBDA is much more intensive and persistent than that of CBD itself.
The hope is that science will continue researching this valuable substance to be able to benefit from it therapeutically.

CBD: Recalling its characteristics and benefits
Over time, scientific research has turned more towards CBD than CBDA. As is well known, CBD is a non-psychotropic substance, very different from THC, as well as one of the essential active ingredients that cannabis contains. It is important to bear in mind that CBD has been attributed to several health virtues and, at the same time, the absence of psychotropic effects and addictive phenomena.
Moreover, CBD can also override the psychotropic action of THC, allowing for a more effective synergy of the two substances in a therapeutic context, avoiding the risk of unwanted effects.
Regarding CBDA, we have noticed that products in which this active ingredient is present are still few and far between. While on the contrary, the use of CBD-based supplements, especially the oil, which is easy to take, natural and fast-acting, is becoming increasingly widespread.
The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and calming effects attributed to CBD so far have made it ideal for veterinary use as well: choose a low-concentration CBD oil, suitable for small pets, to offer them an excellent source of all-natural well-being.
